Skye Canyon Celebrates its 100th Home Closing By Donating 100 Bicycles to Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada
LAS VEGAS (November 16, 2016) – Skye Canyon recently recorded its 100th home closing. To mark the occasion the 1,700-acre master-planned community in Northwest Las Vegas is donating 100 bicycles to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. The bikes will be presented to the non-profit at Skye Center on Giving Tuesday, November 29 at 11 a.m. Andy Bischel, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs will accept the donation from Garry Goett, CEO of Olympia Companies, developer of Skye Canyon.
Las Vegas Cyclery helped to facilitate the purchase, assembly and delivery of the bikes that are a range of youth sizes for both boys and girls. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada donated 100 youth helmets.
“Skye Canyon emphasizes, encourages and offers unique fitness opportunities for all ages. Biking is a highly popular activity and we’re pleased to introduce kids who might not have otherwise had an opportunity to own their own bicycle to this lifelong sport,” said Goett. “Olympia has been a longtime supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada. Knowing that local kids will have the opportunity to enjoy one of life’s great simple pleasures, riding a bike, through this donation is exactly the kind of community connection we envisioned when creating Skye Canyon. We can’t think of a better way to kick off the holiday season and celebrate our community’s milestone.”
In August, Skye Canyon rounded out phase one of the development when Pardee Homes opened its Keystone neighborhood, joining other Skye Canyon phase one homebuilders Century Communities, Pulte Homes, and Woodside Homes.

Skye Canyon’s official grand opening was in March 2016 when more than 3,000 prospective homebuyers toured Skye Canyon Park, the centerpiece of the community. Skye Canyon Park includes Skye Center, an 8,142-square-foot rustic contemporary community center featuring Skye Bistro, a coffee, and wine bar, an outdoor patio, fireplace and fire pits, as well as interactive home finding tools. It also features Skye Fitness, a 9,663-square-foot state-of-the-art facility that includes an outdoor Junior Olympic swimming pool, yoga and spin rooms and top-of-the-line fitness equipment.
